These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Reamus, an HTML-to-PDF rendering API and dashboard (the "Service") operated by Eightbit Labs ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Reamus converts HTML documents and publicly reachable URLs into PDF files via an HTTP API, a browser dashboard, and related tooling. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Features described as beta or experimental are provided as-is and may change or disappear without notice.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and verify it to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys secret.
Anything done with your account or your API keys is treated as done by you. Notify us promptly at the contact address below if you believe a key or account has been compromised; you can revoke API keys from the dashboard at any time.
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, to use the Service.
One person or legal entity per account. You may not share, sell, or transfer an account without our written consent.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
render, store, or distribute content that is illegal, infringes intellectual-property rights, or that you do not have the right to process;
generate documents intended to deceive, such as forged invoices, fake receipts, counterfeit tickets, or falsified official records;
probe, scan, or attack systems you do not own, including attempts to reach private networks or internal metadata services through the renderer;
resell raw access to the Service without adding a distinct product of your own, or circumvent quotas, rate limits, or plan restrictions (for example by creating multiple free accounts);
interfere with the operation of the Service or attempt to access other customers' data.
We may throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section, and we may remove stored files that we reasonably believe violate it.
4. Plans, quotas, and billing
The free plan includes a monthly rendering quota at no charge. Paid plans (currently Pro and Max) include larger quotas and are billed monthly through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Quotas reset at the start of each calendar month and unused renders do not roll over. If you reach your quota, further renders are rejected until the quota resets or you upgrade.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel or change plans from the dashboard billing portal; changes take effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.
Prices may change. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change affects an existing subscription.
Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise in writing.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the HTML you submit and the PDFs the Service produces for you. You grant us a limited licence to process, store, and transmit that content solely to operate the Service.
Rendered PDFs stored with the store option are kept temporarily and deleted automatically after their expiry window. Do not rely on the Service as your system of record; keep your own copies.
We keep per-request metadata (timestamps, sizes, durations, status) to operate quotas, billing, and abuse prevention.
6. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided without an uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. Scheduled maintenance and unplanned outages can occur. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis by email.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your usage threatens the integrity or security of the Service, or if we are required to by law. Where practical we will notify you first.
Upon termination your API keys stop working and stored files are deleted. Sections that by their nature should survive (including sections 5, 8, and 9) survive termination.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RENDERED OUTPUT WILL BE PIXEL-PERFECT FOR EVERY INPUT.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE AND (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify you by email or a notice in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
